Belarusian enterprises have started making settlements in national currency and Russian rubles with the EAEU partners. This was stated by Finance Minister Yuri Seliverstov. The energy industry was the first to launch this process.
Thus, official Minsk pays to Moscow in Russian rubles for electricity, gas and fuel. The minister is convinced that abandoning USD settlements will have a positive impact on the entire economy.
Yuri Seliverstov, Minister of Finance of Belarus:
Not only transfer to the national currency, but fixing prices in Russian rubles is also important, since there are no such fluctuations, no attachment to foreign currencies. The transition to the Belarusian and Russian rubles in the calculations will only have a positive impact. The payments will be faster.
The government is taking steps to offset the effects of the anti-Belarusian sanctions. The minister does not forecast any problems with budget revenues. All social obligations will be met as well.
