Another reduction will take place in Latvia: about 600 employees of the Latvian Railways may be dismissed in connection with the reduction of cargo from Russia and Belarus. This was announced by the Minister of Transport of the country. He explained that it will not be possible to completely replace Russian and Belarusian cargo, despite the efforts to replace the flow of goods from other countries, such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and China. Last year, Latvian Railways already laid off almost 1,400 people. The further reduction of Russian and Belarusian cargo transit is fraught with the loss of tens of millions of euros for the country's budget.
