Poland started supplying ammunition to Ukraine even before the start of a special military operation. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of the Republic Mariusz Blaszczak.

"We sent the first supplies of ammunition to Ukraine even before the start of the war," Blaszczak said.

He also stressed that "it forced us to speed up equipping the Polish Army."

According to the minister, so far Poland has transferred T-72 tanks, artillery shells and ammunition, portable anti-aircraft missile systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as barraging ammunition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Last year Poland transferred to Ukraine military aid worth 2.2 billion euros.
