Fourteen Olympic champions and world champions from seven countries, including basketball player Andrei Kirilenko, biathlete Valentina Semerenko and discus thrower Virgilijus Alekna, took part in yesterday’s Viber conference streamed on a big screen near the Palace of Sports. The sports stars addressed Minsk residents, inviting everyone to participate in a polo marathon, the biggest race in the history of Belarus scheduled to take place on 13 September, which is Minsk City Day.
A group of runners, including Olympic silver medalist decathlete Andrei Kravchenko and footballer Alexander Gleb have tested the race’s route, consisting of three distances: 5km, 10km and 21km.
To participate in the international polo marathon, everyone interested can apply for a free visa till 14 August.
