The World Weightlifting Championship took place in Pattaya. Evgeny Tikhontsov, who performs in the weight category up to 102 kilograms, won gold with the result of 398 kilograms in the double event. Moreover, our 19-year-old weightlifter won two silver awards. Tikhontsov took the second place in snatch and push exercise.
This is the first gold award for the Belarus national team in the double-event at the current planetary forum. In total, there are 4 medals on the national score. Earlier, Alexander Bersanov won silver in the snatch.
