Olympic champion in gymnastics Antonina Koshel celebrates her anniversary today. The famous athlete turns 65. She got a place in the champion team of the Soviet Union at the last moment in the 10th grade.
Antonina Koshel still has energy for life and leads all veterans of physical education and sports. She was born in a large and friendly family. She was the only out of 5 sisters to take up sports since. She started with ballet, but changed it for gymnastics. Antonina Koshel was enrolled in a sports boarding school.
Getting into the team of the Soviet Union was like a feat. Not only leaders could fight for the Olympic gold, but also the second and even third numbers of the national team.
18-year-old Antonina Koshel passed the selection. She opened the beam exercise and led the Soviet team to the gold medals of the Munich Olympics.
That Olympics was the only one for Antonina Koshel. She took the gold in the team tournament at the USSR Spartakiad 3 years later and ended her career as an athlete. But she remained in sports as a coach for a long time.
Antonina Koshel is the pride of gymnastics and just a grandmother. 2 beautiful daughters, 3 grandchildren and a loving spouse, with whom they have been side by side for almost 45 years. Antonina lives in a large and friendly family, showing her life example of happiness.
