The European Sambo Championship scheduled to launch today in Minsk’s Sports Palace, will see matches in combat sambo, as well as men’s and women’s classic sambo with 9 medal sets to be competed for in each category.
The European Sambo Championship will feature about 500 athletes from 30 countries.
The event gives Minsk a try before the 2019 European Games as this sport is included into the competition program.
The Championship will begin at 10:00 with preliminary matches. The opening ceremony scheduled for 17:30 will be followed by the first championship finals.
Admission to the European Sambo Championship in the Palace of Sports is free.
