By Andrey Kozlov: The Second European Games that will be hosted by Belarus next year are already welcoming guests. 12 sports organizations from Belgium, Denmark, the UK, the Netherlands, Turkey, and some other countries are working in Minsk these days as part of the Doors Open Days.

20 delegates make visits to the venues that will host the largest international competitions next year, and note that the organizing committee meets all the deadlines. For example, the renovation works at the Stadium Dinamo in Minsk are nearly complete. This is the venue that will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games. The legendary Belarusian arena has become the main place that sports officials visited.

Azerbaijan was the first country that hosted the European Games. They were held in the summer of 2015. Belarus and Azerbaijan have long enjoyed friendly relations, so Belarus is now actively cooperating with experts from Azerbaijan. Representatives of sports organizations of Azerbaijan are now frequent visitors in Minsk.

Preparations for the European Games are under way not only in Belarus. For example, about 50 volunteers will work at matches of the FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer. And two of them have already worked during a friendly match between the teams of Russia and Brazil.

In Minsk, the delegates of the European Olympic Committees will continue their work tomorrow, when a number of working meetings will be held. Belarus opens its doors to all the guests of the European Games. Today, there are 20 delegates visiting the country. A year later, the number of athletes alone will reach 4,000.
