28 апреля 2015

The national teams of Turkey and Portugal were the first to arrive in Minsk yesterday for the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships. The majority of athletes and technical committee members are expected to arrive today.

The current Championships will be record-breaking in terms of the number of participants - more than 600 gymnasts from 38 European countries will compete for a total of 7 medal sets. For instance, four years ago, when the Belarusian capital hosted an analogous event for the first time, the competition featured gymnasts from 35 countries.

In the team standings, Belarus’ team will be represented by Melitina Stanyuta and Ekaterina Galkina. Medals will be awarded in the finals in individual events. Belarus’ junior national team will compete in group events.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championship will be held at Minsk Arena on 1-3 May. It will be completed with a traditional gala show featuring the best European gymnasts.
