Belarus has 4 medals at 2018 Winter Paralympics

On 9 March, the 2018 Winter Paralympics opened in PyeongChang, South Korea. At the Games, Belarus is represented in biathlon and skiing. The team lists 14 athletes.

Belarusian biathletes have already claimed four medals. Dmitry Loban became the second in the sprint race among athletes with lesions of the musculoskeletal system. Lydia Grafeeva won the bronze in the sprint as well.

Yuri Golub claimed the silver in the sprint among biathletes with visual impairment. Svetlana Sakhanenko won the bronze.

For the national team of Belarus, this is its seventh Paralympics.

All in all, in PyeongChang athletes will compete for 80 sets of medals in four sports – biathlon, skiing, curling, and ice hockey. Representatives of 49 countries are fighting for the podium. Three of these countries participate in the Winter Paralympics for the first time. They are Georgia, North Korea, and Tajikistan.
