A contest on designing the official mascot of the 2019 European Games in Minsk has started. It will continue until November. The new symbol of the Games needs to match the already developed motto and logo. The official motto of the 2nd European Games is Bright Year, Bright You. The logo displays a fern flower, the folklore symbol of Belarus. The symbol of the 1st European Games that were held in Baku was a pomegranate. Drafts of the mascot can be sent to the Ministry of Information.
The 2nd European Games will be held in Minsk on 21—30 June 2019. The venues of the competitions will be Minsk’s major sporting centres – Dinamo Stadium, Minsk Arena, Chyzhovka Arena, and Uruchcha Sports Palace. 11 of the 16 sports will be qualifying for the 2020Olympic Games. It is expected that about 4,000 athletes will arrive in Minsk.
