Today The Flame of Peace was greeted in Polesie. The solemn ceremony was held on the main square of Pinsk. In the historical part of the city, the symbol of the games was carried by famous Belarusians, for whom this place is a small homeland. The silver medalist of the Olympics in Athens, weightlifter Anna Batyushko, was the first among the torchbearers. The torch was welcomed by the locals, and each stop of the Flame of Peace was accompanied by solemn ceremonies. The national partner of the II European Games is Belarusbank, which, within the framework of one of the five charitable projects “Let's Win Together!” provides sponsorship assistance to institutions and clubs of the most popular sports.
Tomorrow, the Flame of Peace will be transported to Pinsk and the village of Kudrichi, the heart of Belarusian Polesie, The relay race in Brest Region will end on May 17.
