By Stanislav Lipsky: Women's volleyball has given its fans lots of pleasant emotions again. Minchanka Volleyball Club played in the European Cup Final – the 2nd ranked club tournament in Europe. This is the greatest achievement of the Belarusian volleyball in the country’s history.
For the first time in the sovereign history of Belarus, the team of Victor Goncharov made its way to the final of the European Cup.
Minchanka's opponent was the Turkish club Eczacıbaşı VitrA – the winner of the 2015 Champions League a two-time club championship of the world. Minchanka demonstrated a strong performance but lost 1-3.
Nevertheless, according to Viktor Goncharov, this season’s performance in the European Cup virtually guarantees Minchanka participation in the Russian Super League next year.
The second leg of the final is scheduled for 10 April. The game will be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
