Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and Russia to jointly ensure security during 2nd European Games

18 сентября 2018

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and Russia will unite efforts in providing security during the 2nd European Games. This was agreed today by the heads of departments at the Joint Collegium. Timely exchange of information is the priority. At the same time, special attention will be paid to the control of persons who have already been brought to justice for violating the rules of conduct in sports arenas. According to Igor Shunevich, one of the serious problems today is hooliganism and mass violations of public order in the stadiums. The reasons for such violations are mostly outside of sports. In the near future everything will be done to exclude such cases not only during the Second European Games, but also during other international sports competitions.

Close cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs allowed Belarusian policemen to study the security experience during the World Summer Universiade in Kazan, the Sochi Olympics and the World Cup in Russia.
