Minsk ready for Stage I of Track Cycling World Cup

From October 31 to November 3, Minsk-Arena cycling track will host the first of the six stages of the World Cup. Belarus has never received such a representative and starry competition: 386 cyclists, 57 teams from 44 countries are going to fight not only for medals, but also for the rating points, which are necessary to get a quota for the main start of the four years. The team of Belarus consists of  17 athletes, including Evgeny Korolek, Tatiana Sharakova and Alyona Omelusik. 

Anastasia Voynova, two-time winner of the II European Games, silver medalist of the Olympic Games in track cycling (Russia):  "This is probably the fourth or fifth time I've been here this season. We're coming here for training. The track corresponds to the world standard."

On Thursday, the qualifications will begin. And the opening ceremony is on Friday at 4:45 p.m. The organizers expect high interest from the fans.
