International Ice Hockey Federation apologizes to Belarus

The International Hockey Ice Federation President has apologized to the Belarusian national hockey team’s members for the incident at the railway station in Paris. Rene Fasel attended the team’s training session and expressed his regret, saying that investigation is already underway. In addition, the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation has received an official letter from the World Cup organizers expressing regret in connection with the incident.

The Belarusian national ice hockey team was subject to a thorough police search at Paris’ train station on May 3. The police searched the luggage of head coach Dave Lewis, his assistants Craig Woodcroft and Oleg Antonenko, as well as forwards Egor Sharangovich and Andrei Kostitsyn.
