Interview with Head of European Olympic Committees

3 декабря 2017

At a meeting with Janez Kocijancic, the head of the European Olympic Committees, Alexander Lukashenko expressed his certainty that Belarus will prepare for the 2019 Second European Games at the highest level.

The Second European Games will be the largest national sports project in the history of sovereign Belarus. Minsk will host competitions in 15 sports, and many federations will hold selections in the Belarusian capital for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, which, of course, makes victory at the competitions in Minsk many times more valuable.

It is expected that in June 2019 around 7,000 athletes, coaches, journalists and officials will come to Belarus. Preparations for the forum are organized by the Belarusian organizing committee together with the European Olympic Committees. By the way, a week ago this organization was headed by the Slovenian Janez Kocijancic.

The full version of the conversation with Janez Kocijancic, in which issues of marketing rights on European Games, the course of preparation for the forum and much more were discussed, will be televised on Wednesday by TV Channel Belarus 1 after “Panorama”.
