Ilya Shimanovich has reached the finals of the Short Course World Swimming Championships, held in Guangzhou, China. In the semifinal, the Belarusian showed a second time in breaststroke, losing only to Russian Kirill Prigoda. In the general list of finalists Shimanovich has the fourth time. The men's four, consisting of Evgeny Tsurkin, Grigory Pekarsky, Viktor Staselovich and Artem Machekin, finished eighth in the final 4×100 metres freestyle relay.
