Evgeny Tikhontsov world weightlifting champion

Belarusian Evgeny Tikhontsov won gold at the World Weightlifting Championship. The competition took place in Pattaya, our athlete gained 398 kg in total. The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Evgeny Tikhontsov. Also, the 19-year-old weightlifter won two silver awards. Tikhontsov took the second place in snatch and push exercise.

This is the first gold award for the Belarus national team in the double-event at the current planetary forum. In total, there are 4 medals on the national score. Earlier, Alexander Bersanov won silver in the snatch.
