Ekaterina Karsten finishes her legendary career

Ekaterina Karsten completes her legendary career, which included performances at seven Olympics, two of which ended in a triumph. The outstanding athlete at the age of 47 was preparing for the upcoming games in Tokyo, but has now announced her retirement. This was largely due to injury, a rib fracture that occurred on the before the World Cup in London. The first Olympic Games for the Belarusian rower were competitions in Barcelona in 1992, when she won bronze in the CIS team. Today, at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee, the famous Belarusian athlete officially said goodbye to the sport. 

Ekaterina Karsten was awarded the Order of the Fatherland I, II and III degrees, the Order of Honor, the medal "For Labor Merits".
