Belarus has won its first medal at the Olympic Games in PyeongChang! Anna Guskova became an Olympic champion in ski acrobatics. She passed the qualification on the first try. She was the best in the first finals, reached the superfinal with the fourth result and won the competition.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Olympic champion Anna Guskova on winning the gold medal, as well as on conferring of the title of Honored Master of Sports and the Order of the Fatherland of the 3rd degree. The Head of State expressed his gratitude to the entire coaching staff of the national freestyle team.
Anna Guskova missed the major part of the previous season because of an injury. The freestyler underwent surgery. She managed not only to recover, but also to start this Olympic season with the first in her career victory in the World Cup stage in China. In the American Lake Placid, Anna won silver. These are the second Olympic Games in the career of 25-year-old Guskova.
