Two-time world champion and bronze medalist of the Olympics in Beijing. Belarusian pentathlete Anastasiya Prokopenko is considered by many specialists one of the contenders for the Olympic medals in Tokyo. At the UIPM 2018 Pentathlon World Championships in Mexico City, our athlete won gold together with Iryna Prasiantsova in the women's relay race, and then rose to the highest step of the podium in personal competitions. Alexander Lukashenko congratulated our pentathletes on the magnificent victory. These awards have become a logical continuation of the gold of the European Championship and the bronze of last year's World Cup. Anastasia twice interrupted her career and returned to sport after the birth of children.

Another important event for the Belarusian sport took place at the World Championships. Ten years later, Anastasiya Prokopenko received a bronze medal of Beijing. The Belarusian became the fourth at the Olympics, but after the doping tests had been rechecked Ukrainian Victoria Tereshchuk was disqualified.
