Meeting on further functioning of State Secretariat of Security Council of Belarus held today

The Head of the State discussed issues of further functioning of the State Secretariat of the Security Council of Belarus with Stanislav Zas and the Head of the Presidential Administration. Stanislav Zas will take the post of the CSTO General Secretary. He will begin working on January 1, but in fact he has already begun. Stanislav Zas together with the leaders of the CSTO countries took part in the closed part of the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization the day before.

The prospects for the chairmanship of Belarus and the country's representatives in the integration associations in the post-Soviet area became the main topic of conversation with Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich. The chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union will pass to Belarus in February 2020. Belarus will appoint the chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission for 4 years. The Head of the State noted that the candidacy of Mikhail Myasnikovich for this post was carefully analyzed.
