By Ilona Krasutskaya: Today, the scientific elite of the country gathered at the Palace of Independence in Minsk, where the President awarded diplomas of the academicians and members of the Academy of Sciences, Doctors of Science, and professors' certificates.
As Alexander Lukashenko stressed, Belarus is proud of its scientists. And this ceremony serves as recognition of the merits of true professionals. Today, one of the key conditions for successful development is innovation in industry and agriculture, the creation of new materials and technologies in engineering and electronics, chemistry and biology, as well as medicine. These spheres determine the standards of living.
The President also stressed that the state is ready to support scientists, and they always should improve and strive for progress. Despite the solemnity of the moment, Alexander Lukashenko urged participants to use this meeting as an opportunity for a frank and open dialogue.
The event was attended by over 40 scientists representing different fields of knowledge. Among them there are many names known not only in Belarus, but also abroad. Today, at the Palace of Independence they heard the main message – the challenges that the scientific community in Belarus is facing will not be left without attention and scientists will receive support at the highest level.
Implementing all the big projects is now ahead. The future model of the country – the Intellectual Belarus – means that its key components are digital economy and the creation of an IT-country. A rapidly changing world requires decisive steps, therefore the state is determined to support every constructive initiative and breakthrough idea of Belarusian scientists.
