The focus of attention today is the cooperation of Belarus with the African continent. This is the first official visit at the highest level in the history of our relations.
Belarus is in search of partners in the African region, with whom our country could build a strategic partnership. In Zimbabwe we see a big front of work, the head of the Belarusian state noted. Over the course of two decades, our trade mainly fluctuated from 2 to 5 million dollars, the result of 2017 is more than 20 million. Year 2018 was also marked by serious contracts for almost $ 60 million. We will supply Belarusian machinery and equipment. In the next two years, the parties intend to at least triple the amount of the agreements in investment, trade and services. Alexander Lukashenko sees a large scope of work ahead. He stated this today at the talks with the President of Zimbabwe.
The parties are confident that this visit will give impetus to the development of bilateral relations. Following the talks, they plan to sign a package of international documents. The official visit of the President of Zimbabwe provides a large-scale business program, including a meeting with representatives of the Belarusian business.
