Viktor Lukashenko approved as acting First Vice-President of NOC Belarus

The II European Games is an important social and political event in the history of the country, so the sports forum should be held at the highest level. The Belarus national team is tasked to perform no worse than in Baku. Alexander Lukashenko stressed this today at the meeting of the NOC Belarus Executive Committee. Objects, telecommunications, road network, transport, student village must meet the highest standards. Moreover, every ruble invested in the European Games should be used rationally. 67 days are left before the start of the multisports forum.

A report on the preparations for the II European Games was made by Sergei Rumas. According to the prime minister, all the facilities will be ready for the forum by May 15. This weekend Minsk will host the World Cup in trampolining. The II European Games will be held from 21 to 30 June in Minsk. 4,000 athletes will perform in 15 sports.

Viktor Lukashenko was approved as the Acting First Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee. This post is temporary. Viktor Lukashenko will combine it with the post of presidential aide for national security. The priority in his work will be international cooperation and holding major sport forums in Belarus, including the II European Games, as well as the athletics match between Europe and the USA, which will be held at the Dinamo stadium in September. Viktor Lukashenko will work in collaboration with the Minister of Sport and Tourism, as well as with the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of sports.
