Alexander Lukashenko meets with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Nur-Sultan

The President of Belarus arrived in Kazakhstan on a working visit, where the Head of State will take part in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council tomorrow. A few hours ago, the President’s plane landed at the international airport in Nur-Sultan.

In addition to the enlarged format, the narrow meeting of the Eurasian Five leaders is expected. Immediately after the arrival, the President of Belarus met with his counterpart, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The leaders discussed the relations of the two countries and confirmed their intentions to develop them in the same productive and good way, because Kazakhstan is a close trade and industrial partner of our state. Joint turnover exceeds 900 million dollars. Moreover, the network of Belarusian enterprises includes over 40 companies.

The Belarusian leader has also met with the first head of Kazakhstan. Nursultan Nazarbayev presented Alexander Lukashenko with the eponymous order of the first President of Kazakhstan - an important state award. As for the EAEU summit, the participants of the union gathered to discuss the interim results of the development of the alliance and will determine future prospects for joint work. First of all, issues of joint economic integration will be discussed, including the formation of a common and transparent energy market, the elimination of obstacles in the customs sphere. The parties will also discuss the project Integration of Integrations: the creation of a single, barrier-free trade space from Lisbon to Vladivostok. The idea belongs to the Belarusian side. By tradition, the leaders of the EAEU approve the main macroeconomic guidelines for the next year namely in May.
