The Belgee plant opened officially in Borisov District. The solemn ceremony was attended by the President of Belarus – Alexander Lukashenko. The enterprise was built within two and a half years by Belarusian and Chinese specialists. For the auto giant Geely, this is the first experience of the construction of a full cycle plant abroad.
The capacities of the plant allow to produce 60,000 cars a year, but this figure can be doubled. The first Belarusian car – Geely Atlas – was produced just recently. Next year, the line of the Belarusian Geely will expand to another CUV and a sedan. The cars will be sold both domestically and on the CIS market.
The President got acquainted with the production processes and then he talked to the employees of the plant. The President noted that the production of this plant truly represents the people of this country.
During the conversation with the work collective, other relevant topics were also touched upon. For example, the reconstruction of the Minsk—Borisov road, the development of Belarusian cities, the employment prospects for young professionals and the housing construction sector.
