CSTO summit ends in Bishkek

The leaders of the organization's member states discussed the most pressing topics and issues at a special session. The President of Belarus urged his colleagues to lay the emphasis to peace initiatives. They also discussed the topic of NATO. The alliance is actively building up its troops on its eastern borders, which is the border of the CSTO countries. Alexander Lukashenko also pointed to the regional conflicts. One of the main problems of Europe is the war in Donbass. Stopping it and returning peace to the East of Ukraine is a priority task. 

Stanislav Zas, Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, will take over the post of the Secretary General of the CSTO from January 1 next year. The main goals of the association for the next 12 months include digital security, exchange of experience with international organizations, interaction with the SCO. Belarus proposed to adopt a multilateral political declaration on the non-placing of medium-range and shorter-range missiles in order to reduce the degree of tension between geopolitical players.
