High-profile and unexpected personnel appointments affected the military bloc and presidential assistants in the regions.
Alexander Lukashenko considered to strengthen those regions where it was necessary.
At the same time, he expanded the functionality of assistants! In addition to personnel work, they will help to ensure security. The system of interaction with the President will be built in a new way: maximum direct contacts. 3 high-ranking figures from law enforcement agencies have been appointed as assistants to the head of state. Moreover, two of them will fulfill their duties in new ranks - lieutenants general. Alexander Barsukov became the assistant to the head of state in Minsk. And Yuri Karayev will hold the post of an assistant as well, he was entrusted with an important region - Grodno Region. Here his experience and responsible approach will be useful. Valery Vakulchik was appointed assistant for Brest Region.
President on the appointment of assistants: to be responsible for important regions of our country.
"3 of you are heading to very important regions of our country. In connection with those events, which have occurred and not yet finished, we still do not know what this may result in. You are military people, knowledgeable, you do not need to be brought up to date and taught," the head of state said.
Addressing Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Natalia Kochanova, Alexander Lukashenko instructed to prepare and improve the legal and regulatory framework for assistants.
"The functionalities will be much wider. I don't want to concretize them now. We still have to talk about this. But the selection of personnel in these areas traditionally remains together with the governor, as well as the control over the activities of personnel. From the chairman of the village council, the head of the enterprise to the governor," the President said. "They have experience. This is work with the leaders of Brest, Grodno Regions and Minsk. Therefore, contact with the governor is a very delicate job. And I am absolutely convinced that with this experience they can do it."
It is no coincidence that such strong managers and trained people are sent by the President to the western regions. It is also a reaction to what is happening at our borders and possible external threats. Control at the borders will be serious - both in connection with the actions of our neighbors and in connection with the epidemic situation.
President appointed Ivan Kubrakov Minister of Internal Affairs of Belarus. He headed the metropolitan police before. In the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he is one of the youngest and most promising generals. He received the rank of major general 43. Minsk knows that the situation in the capital requires special attention. Working in conjunction with a new assistant will help to ensure law and order.
Considering that the leaders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have gone on other positions, the work on forming the team will continue. But the task will remain the same: to prevent chaos and radical actions in the streets, to protect respectable citizens, and to ensure public safety.
Ivan Kubrakov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Belarus: "The President set him the task of ensuring the safety of Belarusian citizens, taking into account the current operational situation. The main attention was, of course, paid to ensuring security in Minsk."
Personnel rotation is caused by the demand of the time. The President's decisions are aimed at strengthening security, first of all, and at strengthening important positions in the government body.
