As stated by the President of Belarus yesterday, Belarus needs to improve the system of countering border security threats and challenges. The situation on the Belarusian borders is among the most important issues of state policy. The effectiveness of border security is has been enhanced. However, in the face of new challenges – such as illegal migration and drug trafficking – border guards must always be on the alert.
Among the priorities for the department are the strengthening of security in the south, the construction of engineering structures, and the development of infrastructure. Last year, the number of people and the flow of traffic across the Belarusian border grew, including because of the visa-free regime.
