On September 30, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko gave an interview to CNN.

The head of state announced the possibility of such an interview on August 9 during the meeting with the representatives of the public, expert community and mass media "Big Conversation with the President", where the representative of the TV Company was also present. She invited Alexander Lukashenko to answer the TV company's questions.

"I do not exclude this possibility, but only on one condition: if you publish everything I say without cutting, cutting or adding," said the head of state.

The interviewer was taken by Matthew Chance, CNN senior international correspondent in Russia.

The journalist asked questions that have already become traditional for the Western press. They were based on crude and blatant fakes, most of which the head of state had already refuted more than once. But there were also new, and quite unbelievable fakes, for example, that migrants in Belarus are drugged.

The Belarusian leader answered all questions as frankly as possible. He spoke in detail about the migration problem, naming the real causes and the culprits of the current situation. He spoke out about the unsuccessful "revolutionaries" who had escaped from Belarus. He commented on the lies and pressure around the landing of the Ryanair plane in Minsk airport.  He told the truth about the country's approaches in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19. The topic of Belarusian-Russian relations was also raised in the interview.

At the end of the interview, Matthew Chance shared his impressions with the Belarusian media. The answer to the question whether the prerequisite for full publication of the content of the conversation would be met was rather unexpected. "We at CNN do not accept any restrictions on how to use the interview material, and we will use this footage as we see fit," said the journalist.
