Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin held talks in St. Petersburg. The leaders discussed many things: union integration, joint military exercises, and, of course, the economy. The year showed: we are strong when we are together. The President of Belarus expressed his gratitude to the Russian leader for support and noted that Minsk and Moscow will continue their productive cooperation. However, the schedule was not limited to an official meeting - the heads of states also played hockey.
А. Lukashenko told about cooperation with Russia in defense
Defense is indeed a relevant issue. The hysteria in Ukraine, supported by Washington, has led to the situation, when people really believe that war will start on January 1. The Russian Ministry of Defense even issued an official statement that NATO is preparing for a large-scale conflict. That is, if you give in to weakness, the enemy is at the gate.
Military geopolitics is one thing, but economy and social well-being are a necessary segment of the allied relations. The day before there was an informal summit of the CIS. And the conversations were much more useful and concrete than those held at some official meetings, say, in Glasgow or Rome.
The leaders also discussed 28 Union programs - approved by the Supreme State Council on November 4 and now being implemented by Belarus and Russia.
