Council of Bishops' Conferences of Europe takes place in Belarus

Yesterday, at a meeting with participants of the plenary session of the Council of Bishops' Conferences of Europe, President Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the visit of the higher Catholic clergy to Minsk serves as the recognition of the policy of peace and harmony that Belarus conducts both at home and internationally.

This large-scale religious forum is being held in Belarus for the first time. 45 countries participate in the conference. Speaking about the role of the church in the country, the President stressed that it should grow.

According to the President, it is the clergy who can help resolve conflicts and strengthen security on the continent. In addition, the President expressed his wish that the Catholic and Orthodox churches keep up with the demands of life and improve on time.

It is also symbolic that the meeting takes place in the year of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and the Holy See.
