Today, the government and the National Bank defended the draft budget and monetary policy framework for the next year before the Head of State.
An important innovation will be the upd ated Tax Code. Its main provisions are discussed by the government, business and expert environment. Innovations, in particular, simpler tax system will stimulate the investors. In this case, all 3 documents were criticized by the President, taking into account the instructions, they should be finalized as soon as possible.
Another priority is investment. President criticizes the Cabinet for its sluggishness. Belarus should become a quiet and comfortable harbor for capital with internal stability, low level of corruption, and an almost complete se t of decrees and laws promoting business initiative. A year ago, the President ordered to prepare a modern, simple and understandable code.
The Minister of Finance explains: the new code simplifies taxes, but does not reduce revenues to the budget.
The President’s order is to finalize the code as soon as possible so that new tax rules took effect in the beginning of 2019. The document is so important that several working groups, including the government, deputies, the Presidential Administration, business and experts, will be engaged in the finalization.
The President allotted no more than two weeks to finalize the draft monetary policy and budget for the next year, taking into account the today's criticism.
