Presidents of Belarus and Russia hold telephone conversation

Vladimir Putin informed Alexander Lukashenko on the economic measures taken by Russia in regard to certain categories of products imported from countries that had imposed sanctions on Russian organizations and citizens. Vladimir Putin expressed the hope for Belarus' understanding of the steps taken in the interests of Russia's economic security. In turn, the President of Belarus said that the full transparency would be ensured at the border.


The Presidents also discussed the issues of cooperation in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and its enlargement. It was confirmed that Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union should not infringe on the interests of the Customs Union. During the conversation, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin exchanged views on the development of the economic situation in Ukraine due to the signing of the European Union Association Agreement.
