2nd Minsk Ring Road officially launched

22 December 2016

By Andrei Krivosheyev: Today has seen the launch of the 2nd Minsk Ring Road, the opening ceremony attended by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

The 160 km-long four-lane highway, referred to as M14, is expected to not only reduce traffic load in Minsk, but also to become a trans-European corridor through Belarus and stimulate the development of satellite cities.

Thanking road-building organisations for their work, the President requested to switch from national to local roads. Highways to Grodno and Soligorsk, as well as a strategic corridor through Polesie have already been designed or are being constructed.
