President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko extended condolences to the relatives and friends of People's Artist of the USSR Zurab Sotkilava.
"Please accept my deep condolences in connection with the departure from life of an outstanding tenor, educator, public figure and a great person," the condolence says.
The head of state noted that Zurab Sotkilava lived a bright and rich life, reached real professional heights and entered an unforgettable page in the history of modern opera. "His work received national love and respect from his colleagues, he brought up several generations of young artists and was an example of selfless service to his Motherland," the Belarusian leader said.
