Reducing crime, fighting corruption and details of investigating high-profile criminal cases discussed at meetings with the President

Reducing the level of crime, the fight against corruption and details of the investigation of high-profile criminal cases were discussed during the working meeting with the President. The Prosecutor General’s Office proposed to raise the status and significance of anti-corruption commissions.

Belarus maintains a positive trend towards a decrease in crime rates. In 2018, there were fewer robberies, murders and drunk drivers on the roads.

The strict requirement of the President to all security officials is not to slow down the fight against corruption. Statistics show the effectiveness of the work of law enforcement officers. Last year, the number of detected corruption crimes increased by almost a third. Such facts are most often recorded in the field of transport, construction and public administration.

It is important for the President that innocent people should not suffer in solving crimes. Last year, the committee focused its efforts primarily on an unbiased and comprehensive investigation of criminal cases.
