Economic situation, elections and coronavirus situation were discussed at the meeting of the President and the Speaker of the Council of the Republic. In the conditions of growing crisis the work of Belarusian enterprises without stopping will allow to stay afloat and pass global turbulence with minimal losses. Our health system copes with viral threats. The head of state instructed the speaker to control the issue of assistance to elderly people, taking into account the seasonal rise of all viral infections. In general, "getting closer to people" is not difficult.
Against the background of problems due to the spread of coronavirus infection in the world, there are different proposals on the closure of businesses. However, Natalia Kochanova stressed: there's no basis for such measures. "We understand very well: the epidemic will pass, and what will the country be left with? We don't have a situation where we have to close some businesses. So the economy is a priority: the work of the enterprises, the fulfillment of the tasks that we face," she said.
The Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament visited health care institutions in Vitebsk, got acquainted with the work of the laboratories, where they started to produce tests.
