Belarus President meets with leadership of security wing

27 сентября 2021

Today, our President discussed the situation at the state border, the migration crisis and Belarus' assistance to refugees with the leadership of the security wing.  The most important issue is the defense of our own borders. There is no shortage of reasons for concern. We are witnessing active exercises right at our borders. Poland is pulling 250 tanks purchased from the United States. Exercises are being held in Ukraine with the participation of NATO countries. In fact, the U.S. and NATO forces are developing a strategic place of arras.

The migration crisis is gaining momentum.

The migration crisis has also become more complicated. The situation is being deliberately exacerbated by the actions of the border agencies of the neighboring countries. Their leadership blames Belarus directly for the organization of the migration crisis. At the session of the UN General Assembly, the Polish and Lithuanian regimes synchronously declared that Belarus, by artificially creating and overflowing the flows of migrants, allegedly exerts political pressure on the European Union. Such slander is a pathetic attempt to deflect attention from the outrageous facts of violations of the rights of refugees by those who promised them protection. Hounding by dogs, beatings, threats, and, on top of that, difficult weather conditions - these are what people forced to flee in search of an allegedly better life in Europe have to face. The Belarusian side has repeatedly offered its assistance to the migrants. But they insist on moving to the countries that called them. Nevertheless, Belarus cannot remain indifferent to their situation. The border guards and local residents will continue to provide all possible assistance to the refugees.
