Alexander Lukashenko to meet with Prime Minister of Moldova today

Alexander Lukashenko's official visit to Moldova continues, and today the Belarusian President will meet the Prime Minister of Moldova - Pavel Filip.

Yesterday, the President of Belarus met with President Igor Dodon. Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarus produces the goods that are needed in Moldova, and Moldovan products are in demand in Belarus.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of bilateral cooperation, interaction in integration formats, including within the Eurasian Economic Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Minsk is ready to train engineering personnel to set up assembly plants in Moldova.

Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the two countries should create joint ventures, and more efforts should be made in this direction.

Today, Alexander Lukashenko is scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister of Moldova – Pavel Filip. The two leaders will consider the expansion of economic ties in different areas. Following the meeting, international documents are expected to be signed.

At the same time, business contacts will be established by business partners of the two countries. Today, the Belarusian-Moldovan forum will be held in Chisinau. About 20 contracts are being finalised. An exhibition of communal equipment and other Belarusian products will be organized for the delegates.

The economic relations between Belarus and Moldova include 60 enterprises. The main spheres of cooperation are tractors and agricultural machinery, construction materials and ceramic tiles, as well as food products - dairy and fish. The market of Moldova is open to Belarus. In the near future, the two countries expect to reach the commodity turnover of 400 million dollars.
