Preparations for the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao and the development of the Belarusian-Chinese relations were discussed at the meeting of President Alexander Lukashenko with the Ambassador of China to Belarus Cui Qiming. The President noted that Cui Qiming is the most dedicated specialist of China on bilateral issues and his position is extremely important for promoting the relations and preparation of meetings at the highest level.

In early June, China will meet the leaders of the states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Belarus has increased its participation in this major integration platform from a dialogue partner to an observer.

Ahead of the summit in Qingdao, another significant event will be held. Wang Qishan, the current Vice President of the People's Republic of China, will arrive in Minsk. The choice of Belarus as the country of the first official visit immediately after his election to the high office testifies to the attention of the leadership of China to the development and expansion of bilateral relations.
