During yesterday’s talks the Presidents of Belarus and China admitted that the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation was developing rapidly. Alexander Lukashenko thanked Xi Jinping for the Chinese investments and loans granted for implementing infrastructure projects, stressing that Xi Jinping’s May visit to Belarus had been a historic and breakthrough event. As a result of the reached agreements, bilateral cooperation is effectively developing, including the construction of the Great Stone Industrial Park.
Alexander Lukashenko also met with First Vice Prime Minister of China’s State Council Zhang Gaoli. During the meeting the Belarusian President pointed out Belarus being China’s long-time reliable partner and stressed that the Belarusian side was completely satisfied with the established negotiations formula - a comprehensive strategic partnership. The direction in which the cooperation between the two countries will continue developing has been entrenched in Directive No. 5 signed by the President yesterday.
Meanwhile, a large-scale parade marking the 70th anniversary of victory in the Anti-Japanese War and the end of World War II is currently nearing completion in Beijing. The President of Belarus has been personally invited by the Chinese leader to attend the event. The parade involves about 12,000 soldiers and officers, including from Belarus, Cuba, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and other countries.
