Alexander Lukashenko visited the memorial complex People's Memory in Ashgabat yesterday, where he laid a wreath at the monument to Great Patriotic War victims and left a note in the book of honorable guests.
The large memorial complex includes a monument in honour of the Great Patriotic War Victory, as well as monuments perpetuating the memory of the fallen in the Geok Tepe Battle and the Ashgabat earthquake.
Also, the President visited a Belarus-Turkmenistan trade fair representing 117 companies. The exhibition is planned to see the signing of eight contracts worth 10.5 million dollars with Belarusian enterprises of the oil processing, chemical and food industries. Alexander Lukashenko examined the exhibitions of both Belarusian and Turkmen products and visited the Olympic Village, which includes a multifunctional sports arena, a cycling track and a weightlifting gym.
Today Turkmenistan is celebrating Neutrality Day. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has offered congratulations to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the country’s citizens on the national holiday. The event is marked by a large-scale international forum titled The Policy of Neutrality: International Cooperation for Peace, Security and Development, which is planned to be attended by the Belarusian President.
