Presidents of Belarus and Tajikistan agree on strategic partnership

Minsk and Dushanbe foster strategic partnership. Such a level of relations was established today after the signing the appropriate document by the leaders of the two countries.

These days the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon is visiting Minsk. In addition, he will remain for the closing of the Second European Games.

A couple of years ago, the countries laid a good foundation for industrial cooperation. Belarus sees prospects in deliveries of trucks, cars, road-building and passenger vehicles, railway cars. According to the results of the negotiations in the Palace of Independence, one can say with certainty that the modest turnover figures are temporary. Belarus and Tajikistan step up regional cooperation, cooperation in the sphere of innovation, education, sport and tourism.

Following the results of a busy political day, the leaders voiced   the priority areas. Alexander Lukashenko and Emomali Rahmon confirmed the intention to actively develop cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

In memory of the meeting the heads of state exchanged gifts. Alexander Lukashenko presented to Emomali Rahmon a copy of a Slutsk belt created using the old technology, as well as souvenirs of the 2nd European Games. The guest gave to the Belarusian leader a national handmade dagger and a picture of Navruz Palace. Emomali Rakhmon invited Alexander Lukashenko to pay a return visit to Dushanbe.
