President meets with State Secretary of Union State Grigory Rapota

It is symbolic that the meeting took place on the day of the national holiday - the Day of Russia. Alexander Lukashenko, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people on this occasion. Preparation and agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the highest state council was discussed today. The meeting will take place in Minsk in a week. The leaders of Belarus and Russia will take part in it. It is planned that an agreement on priority directions and further tasks of the development of the Union State until 2022 will be submitted for approval by the presidents. The sides will also discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation.

Following the meeting, Grigory Rapota informed journalists about the details of the agenda. The presidents will discuss the results of the Belarusian-Russian economic cooperation, a program of coordinated actions in the field of foreign policy. The heads of state will study the report on how the work on the cancellation of roaming is progressing in the Union State. When preparing an agreement on mutual recognition of visas, the experience of interaction during the World Cup in Russia will be taken into account.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State will be held in Moscow tomorrow. The two prime ministers will discuss issues that will be put on the agenda of the Supreme State Council, including the development of production cooperation, cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex and food supplies.
