Belarus successfully performed at the Olympics. And soon we will organize a prestigious international forum - the second European Games. Minsk will host the big sports festival in the summer of next year. Belarus has met all expectations in the matter of preparation, and the successful experience of holding large-scale sports forums. This assessment was given today by the President of the European Olympic Committees at a meeting with the Head of State.
Being a frequent guest in the Belarusian capital, Janez Kocijancic is well acquainted with the functionality of each of the sports facilities, therefore he highly appreciates the preparation process. Minsk-Arena will host the competitions among gymnasts, trampolists, bicyclists and acrobats. Chizhovka Arena will host the competitions in judo and karate, the Palace of Sports - wrestling and sambo competitions. In total, 12 objects will be involved in the European Games.
The second European Games will be held in our country from June 21 to June 30 next year. 4 thousand athletes, about 2 thousand trainers and representatives of delegations will come to Belarus. Heads of state, prime ministers and other high-ranking officials of Europe are expected among the guests. More than a thousand journalists will cover the sporting event. In Minsk, 206 sets of medals will be competed for in 15 sports, and 10 of them will be qualification rounds for the Olympics in Tokyo.
For 10 days Minsk will become the sports capital of the world. Guests, especially those who come for the entire tournament, will not have to care about visas.
The broadcast of the 2nd European Games will be held by the Spanish company International Sports Broadcasting. It also organized the broadcasts of the first European Games in Baku, and many Olympics, for example, in Turin and Salt Lake City. Belarusian specialists will actively help them. Belteleradiocompany will acquire 4 mobile television stations.
The hotel industry is developing. The staff is already actively learning English. This year, three more hotels will be built in the city.
8 thousand volunteers will be helping guests and participants of the sports festival. At the moment, more than 2 thousand applications have been approved.
