President meets with Director General of World Intellectual Property Organization

In the modern world, the key to successful development of any bilateral relations is the expansion of cooperative ties. And it is better if the joint product will be high-tech. Our country has embarked on the development of the IT sphere and the introduction of innovations in production. But any development should be protected.

The World Intellectual Property Organization deals with these issues on a global scale. It brings together 192 states. Fr om the very beginning, Belarus is among them. For Alexander Lukashenko, this is not the first meeting with the leadership of the organization. There are close contacts between Minsk and Geneva, wh ere the headquarters of WIPO are located.

The main goal of the World Intellectual Property Organization is the protection of rights in various fields. The global system allows receiving information on inventions, industrial designs and trademarks from different states. Francis Harry assures, Belarus is considered a reliable partner. Belarus manages to maintain a multi-polar approach. Therefore, our country can be trusted. WIPO’s desire to hold the largest international events in the field of intellectual property in Minsk confirms it. Our country proves by its example how to develop the sphere of high technologies and achieve success. The world organization considers this experience to be very valuable.
