The most important issues of international security were discussed in Minsk today. The President of Belarus took part in the conference Eastern Europe: In Search of Security for All.

The event should begin the annual open and large-scale dialogue of leading experts from Eastern Europe, the European Union, Russia, the United States and China. Minsk provides a qualitatively new platform for discussions about the present and future of regional and international security. It is no accident that the forum is held in the Belarusian capital. Thanks to the multi-vector foreign policy of our country and respect for foreign partners, the importance of Minsk as a convenient platform for negotiations is growing. Alexander Lukashenko states that modern international relations resemble the situation before the World War I. But Europe can and should set an example in resolving issues between East and West.

During the large-scale discussion, many opinions were voiced concerning various world conflicts and the possibility of their solution. During the crisis in Ukraine, Belarus accepted more than 150,000 refugees, assisting them in employment, medical care, social and psychological adaptation. Alexander Lukashenko is convinced: the only way to settle any international disputes is to give up emotions, mutual accusations and return to dialogue.

The forum was attended by hundreds of experts and officials from 50 countries.
